🕉️ भगवान हनुमान का नाम “हनुमान” कैसे पड़ा?
भगवान हनुमान जी के बाल्यकाल की एक प्रसिद्ध कथा बताती है कि उनका नाम “हनुमान” कैसे पड़ा। यह कथा विभिन्न धार्मिक ग्रंथों और पारंपरिक मान्यताओं में वर्णित है।
🌄 जन्म और प्रारम्भिक जीवन
प्राचीन समय में सुमेरु पर्वत पर वानरराज केसरी का राज्य था। उनकी पत्नी माता अंजना के यहाँ भगवान हनुमान जी का जन्म हुआ। वायु के आशीर्वाद से जन्म होने के कारण उन्हें पवनपुत्र भी कहा जाता है।
☀️ सूर्य को फल समझ लिया
एक दिन बालक हनुमान को बहुत भूख लगी। उसी समय उन्होंने आकाश में उदय होता हुआ लाल सूर्य देखा। सूर्य उन्हें एक चमकते हुए फल जैसा दिखाई दिया।
फल समझकर बालक हनुमान अत्यंत वेग से आकाश की ओर उड़ पड़े और सूर्य को पकड़ने का प्रयास करने लगे।
⚡ राहु और इन्द्र की घटना
उसी समय राहु सूर्य को ग्रहण करने के लिए आगे बढ़ रहा था। हनुमान जी ने राहु को भी फल समझ लिया और उसे पकड़ने का प्रयास किया।
राहु भयभीत होकर इन्द्र के पास पहुँचा। इन्द्र अपने दिव्य हाथी ऐरावत पर सवार होकर वहाँ आए।
जब हनुमान जी ने ऐरावत को भी फल समझकर पकड़ने का प्रयास किया, तब इन्द्र ने उन्हें रोकने के लिए अपने दिव्य अस्त्र वज्र से प्रहार किया।
वज्र का आघात हनुमान जी के हनु (ठुड्डी / जबड़े) पर लगा और वे पर्वत पर गिर पड़े। इसी कारण उनका नाम हनुमान प्रसिद्ध हुआ।
🌬️ वायु का क्रोध
अपने पुत्र को घायल देखकर वायु अत्यंत क्रोधित हो गए और उन्होंने संसार से वायु का प्रवाह रोक दिया।
तब देवता ब्रह्मा जी के पास गए और उनसे सहायता की प्रार्थना की।
✨ देवताओं द्वारा दिए गए वरदान
- ब्रह्मा जी: हनुमान जी को दीर्घायु, अजेय और ब्रह्मास्त्र से भी न मरने का वरदान दिया।
- भगवान शिव: ग्यारहवें रुद्रावतार के रूप में अस्त्र-शस्त्रों से अवध्य रहने का वरदान दिया।
- इन्द्र: वज्र के प्रहार के बाद वज्र से अवध्य रहने और इच्छानुसार रूप धारण करने का वरदान दिया।
- सूर्य: अपने तेज का सौवाँ भाग प्रदान किया और शास्त्रों का ज्ञान देने का वचन दिया।
- यमराज: यमदंड से अभय और नीरोग रहने का वरदान दिया।
- वरुण: जल और पाश से अजेय रहने का वरदान दिया।
- कुबेर: युद्ध में अजेय रहने का वरदान दिया।
- विश्वकर्मा: अपने द्वारा बनाए गए दिव्य अस्त्र-शस्त्रों से भी हनुमान जी को अजेय बनाया।
- वायु: वायु के समान गति और अपार शक्ति का आशीर्वाद दिया।
इन दिव्य वरदानों के बाद बालक मारुति संपूर्ण संसार में भगवान हनुमान के रूप में प्रसिद्ध हो गए।

One day the young Hanuman became very hungry. He saw the bright red Sun rising in the sky and thought it was a delicious fruit.
He leapt into the sky to catch it.

At the same time Rahu was approaching the Sun. Hanuman tried to catch Rahu as well.
Rahu went to Indra for help. Indra arrived riding his elephant Airavata.
When Hanuman tried to catch Airavata, Indra struck him with his weapon Vajra (thunderbolt).
The thunderbolt struck Hanuman on his jaw (hanu). Because of this injury he became known as Hanuman.

Seeing his son injured, Vayu stopped the movement of air in the world. The gods then approached Brahma for help.

- Brahma: Granted long life and protection even from Brahmastra.
- Shiva: Blessed him with protection from divine weapons.
- Indra: Declared that his thunderbolt would never harm Hanuman again and granted the power to change form.
- Surya: Gave a portion of his divine radiance and promised to teach him sacred knowledge.
- Yama: Granted protection from death and freedom from disease.
- Varuna: Blessed him with protection from water and noose.
- Kubera: Granted victory and courage in battle.
- Vishvakarma: Declared that weapons created by him would not harm Hanuman.
- Vayu: Blessed him with the speed and strength of the wind.
After receiving these divine blessings, the child Maruti became widely known as Lord Hanuman.
