हनुमानजी की गौरवगाथा
भक्ति, शक्ति और समर्पण का महासागर
प्रभु श्रीराम से पहली मुलाकात
हनुमानजी और श्रीराम की पहली मुलाकात ऋष्यमूक पर्वत के पास हुई थी। उस समय श्रीराम अपने भाई लक्ष्मण के साथ सीता माता को खोज रहे थे। जब सुग्रीव ने इन दो तेजस्वी राजकुमारों को देखा, तो वे डर गए। उन्हें लगा कि शायद बाली ने उन्हें मारने के लिए इन योद्धाओं को भेजा है।
सुग्रीव का डर दूर करने के लिए हनुमानजी ने एक ब्राह्मण का रूप बनाया और बड़ी ही विनम्रता के साथ प्रभु के पास पहुँचे। उन्होंने अपनी मीठी वाणी में प्रभु से उनका परिचय पूछा। श्रीराम हनुमानजी की बात करने का तरीका देखकर दंग रह गए। उन्होंने तुरंत लक्ष्मण से कहा कि जिसकी बोली में इतनी मिठास और ज्ञान हो, वह कोई साधारण व्यक्ति नहीं हो सकता।
वे बड़े प्यार से प्रभु के चरणों में झुक गए और उनकी आँखों से खुशी के आंसू बहने लगे। हनुमानजी ने हाथ जोड़कर कहा— “हे प्रभु! मैं तो अज्ञानी हूँ, जो अपने स्वामी को पहचान न सका। लेकिन आप तो सब जानते हैं, आपने इस सेवक को कैसे भुला दिया?”
हनुमानजी की ऐसी सच्ची भक्ति देखकर श्रीराम का दिल भी भर आया। उन्होंने तुरंत हनुमानजी को उठाकर गले से लगा लिया। उस समय ऐसा लग रहा था मानो भक्त और भगवान एक हो गए हों। श्रीराम ने हनुमानजी को अपना सबसे प्रिय मित्र मानते हुए कहा— “हे हनुमान! तुम मुझे मेरे भाई भरत के समान ही प्यारे हो।” यहीं से उस दोस्ती की शुरुआत हुई जिसने बुराई का अंत कर दिया।
इस मुलाकात के बाद हनुमानजी ने श्रीराम और सुग्रीव की दोस्ती करवाई, जिससे रावण के खिलाफ युद्ध की तैयारी शुरू हुई।
सीता माता की खोज और समुद्र लांघना
वानरों की सेना समुद्र किनारे आकर रुक गई थी, क्योंकि किसी को समझ नहीं आ रहा था कि इतना बड़ा समुद्र कैसे पार करें। तब जामवन्त जी ने हनुमानजी को उनकी भूली हुई शक्तियों की याद दिलाई। अपनी ताकत का अहसास होते ही हनुमानजी का शरीर पहाड़ जैसा विशाल हो गया। उन्होंने ‘जय श्री राम’ का नारा लगाया और समुद्र पार करने के लिए एक लंबी छलांग लगा दी।
रास्ते में कई बाधाएं आईं, लेकिन अपनी बुद्धि और ताकत से हनुमानजी ने सबको पार किया और लंका पहुँच गए। पूरी रात ढूंढने के बाद, उन्हें अशोक वाटिका में एक पेड़ के नीचे सीता माता बैठी हुई मिलीं। वे बहुत दुखी थीं। हनुमानजी ने चुपके से प्रभु श्रीराम की दी हुई अंगूठी माता के सामने गिरा दी, जिसे देखकर माता को बहुत खुशी हुई।
इसके बाद हनुमानजी ने माता से आज्ञा ली और वाटिका के फल खाकर अपनी भूख मिटाई।
रावण का घमंड और लंका दहन
अशोक वाटिका में हनुमानजी ने रावण के बेटे अक्षय कुमार का वध किया। इसके बाद जब उन्हें बंदी बनाकर रावण के दरबार में ले जाया गया, तो हनुमानजी ने निडर होकर रावण को समझाया कि वह अपनी गलती सुधार ले और माता सीता को वापस लौटा दे। लेकिन घमंडी रावण ने उनकी बात नहीं मानी और उनकी पूँछ में आग लगाने का हुक्म दे दिया।
हनुमानजी ने अपनी माया से पूँछ को इतना लंबा कर दिया कि पूरी लंका के कपड़े कम पड़ गए। जैसे ही पूँछ में आग लगी, हनुमानजी ने एक महल से दूसरे महल कूदना शुरू किया और पूरी सोने की लंका को जलाकर राख कर दिया।
पाताल विजय और पञ्चमुखी रूप
युद्ध के दौरान रावण का भाई अहिरावण अपनी माया से श्रीराम और लक्ष्मण को सोते हुए चुरा ले गया और पाताल लोक ले गया। हनुमानजी तुरंत उनकी रक्षा के लिए पाताल पहुँचे। वहां उनकी मुलाकात अपने ही पुत्र मकरध्वज से हुई। हनुमानजी ने उसे हराकर भीतर प्रवेश किया और देखा कि अहिरावण बलि की तैयारी कर रहा है।
अहिरावण को मारने के लिए पांच दीपकों को एक साथ बुझाना था। तब हनुमानजी ने अपना शक्तिशाली पञ्चमुखी रूप (पांच मुख वाला रूप) धारण किया। इस रूप में उन्होंने पांचों दीपकों को एक साथ बुझा दिया और अहिरावण का वध कर दिया।

The First Meeting with Lord Rama
The first meeting between Hanuman and Lord Rama took place near the Rishyamukha mountain. At that time, Rama was searching for Mother Sita with his brother Lakshmana. When Sugriva saw these two powerful warriors, he was terrified, thinking they were sent by his brother Vali to kill him.
To clear Sugriva’s doubts, Hanuman took the form of a Brahmin and approached the Lord with great humility. When he spoke, Lord Rama was amazed by his sweet voice and perfect grammar. Rama immediately told Lakshmana that someone with such a refined way of speaking could not be an ordinary person.
He bowed at the Lord’s feet with deep humility, and tears of joy began to flow from his eyes. Hanuman said with a choked voice— “O Lord! I am ignorant and could not recognize my own master. But you are all-knowing; how could you forget this humble servant?”
Seeing such pure and selfless devotion, Lord Rama’s heart melted. He immediately lifted Hanuman and embraced him tightly. It felt as if the soul had finally met the Supreme Power. Lord Rama, considering Hanuman his dearest friend, said— “O Hanuman! You are as dear to me as my own brother Bharata.” This marked the beginning of a journey that eventually destroyed the empire of evil.
After this meeting, Hanuman facilitated a friendship between Rama and Sugriva, which laid the foundation for the war against Ravana.
The Search for Sita and Leaping the Ocean
The army of Vanaras stood at the shore of the massive ocean, unsure of how to cross it. It was then that Jamvant reminded Hanuman of his forgotten divine powers. As soon as he realized his strength, Hanuman’s body became as giant as a mountain. Chanting ‘Jai Shri Ram’, he took a mighty leap to cross the ocean.
Despite facing several obstacles on the way, Hanuman reached Lanka using his wisdom and power. After searching all night, he finally found Mother Sita sitting under a tree in the Ashoka Vatika, looking deeply sorrowful. Hanuman quietly dropped the ring given by Lord Rama in front of her, which brought immediate hope and joy to her heart.
After receiving her blessings, Hanuman ate the fruits of the garden to satisfy his hunger, which was actually a strategy to test Ravana’s strength.
Ravana’s Ego and the Burning of Lanka
In Ashoka Vatika, Hanuman killed Ravana’s son, Akshaya Kumara. When he was finally captured and brought to Ravana’s court, Hanuman fearlessly advised Ravana to correct his mistake and return Mother Sita with respect. However, the arrogant Ravana ignored him and ordered his soldiers to set Hanuman’s tail on fire.
Using his divine powers, Hanuman extended his tail so long that all the cloth in Lanka fell short. As soon as the tail was set on fire, Hanuman began jumping from one palace to another, turning the golden city of Lanka into a heap of ashes.
Victory in Patal and the Panchmukhi Form
During the war, Ravana’s brother Ahiravana used his illusions to kidnap Rama and Lakshmana while they were asleep and took them to the netherworld (Patal Lok). Hanuman immediately rushed to save them. There, he encountered his own son, Makardhwaja, at the gates. After a fair duel, Hanuman entered and found Ahiravana preparing for a sacrifice.
To kill Ahiravana, five lamps burning in five different directions had to be extinguished at the same time. At this critical moment, Hanuman assumed his powerful Panchmukhi (Five-faced) form. In this form, he extinguished all five lamps at once and killed Ahiravana.
